about undefined
undefined is a creative collective reimagining how art, events, and community come together. we build spaces where every kind of creative can show up fully, experiment freely, and feel seen.
who we are
undefined is a boundless space for artists, DJs, designers, creatives, and community builders who don’t fit neatly into one box. our name reflects that. we reject labels, rigid genres, and expectations that try to define what we’re allowed to be.
the undefined symbol, 1/0, is rooted in sanskrit and represents infinity: a reminder that creativity has no fixed edges, boxes, or limits.
through parties, pop-ups, and cross-disciplinary experiences, we spotlight talent that’s historically underrepresented in nightlife and music. our events are intimate yet electric, built around real connection, cultural fusion, and giving emerging creatives room to take up space.

the mind behind the movement, redefining creative culture

Sejal Kargal, known as $EJ, is an experimental South Asian–American fusion artist, DJ, and the founder of undefined and the rosewater festival. blending south asian–inspired sounds and global club aesthetics, she weaves house, tech-house, garage, and her own original fusion tracks into sets that feel both nostalgic and radically new.
a Carnatic-trained vocalist, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, $EJ draws on a deep musical background that includes viola, guitar, and years of performance across NYC, SF, and LA. her shows move fluidly between genres and energies, centered on storytelling, emotion, and deep groove.
with undefined, $EJ is building the kind of ecosystem she wished existed when she started out: one that uplifts underrepresented voices, prioritizes community care, and invites people to show up exactly as they are. fully independent and self-made, her journey is rooted in cultural fusion, authenticity, and rewriting what the future of nightlife can look like.
